Our annual meeting….
the LHS Narducci Award presentation…
and a performance!

After a brief business meeting, LHS will present the prestigious Alice Narducci Preservation Award, which recognizes a Lambertville property preservation, restoration, or a combination of the two.  Come to see  who receives the award this year.

After the award ceremony, our program will feature a reenactment. Recently uncovered in the LHS archives was a “This is New Jersey” radio broadcast schedule and the full script for a radio show called the “Story of Lambertville,” including the necessary sound effects and music. This program was actually aired during the week of May 21,1950. The broadcast depicted Lambertville from the early days when it was Coryell’s Ferry with vignettes in the 18th, 19th and up to the mid-20th century. Over 200 years of Lambertville history in 15 minutes!

This program will not be a rebroadcast but a reenactment by LHS members. They include – Gary Cohen (also directing), Wayne Brengel, Barney Stone, Liz Riegel, Amy Raditz, Mike Menche, Rich Freedman (sound effects), and Mary Freedman (producer). There will be a special guest appearance by a certain mayor reading the part of then mayor William Naylor.

Rob Bell of Green Birdie Productions and PANJ Radio, who lives here in Lambertville, will  live-broadcast the radio play reenactment.

If you recall old time radio and even if you don’t, this is a program not to be missed!

Our special thanks to Michael Burns Architects and Sasco Insurance/ Wayne Brengel for generously sponsoring this event!
