A presentation by Lauren Braun-Strumfels, PhD, associate professor of history at Cedar Crest College, local historian and a former LHS trustee.

Lambertville is a fascinating microcosm of larger immigration patterns at the height of mass European mobility around the turn of the twentieth century. Our local history illuminates settlement and labor patterns observed in much larger cities. As Hunterdon County’s only incorporated city, the world came to Lambertville.

This talk will encourage the audience to connect historical patterns in immigration to more contemporary debates over identity, belonging, mobility, and border.

This program is free but donations are welcome.
